Ipod Touch Game Review: China Mahjong 2

I love my iPod Touch.  It’s the perfect replacement to my Palm Zire 72 which keeps dying on me in the middle of the game.  I read ebooks using Stanza, note down my expenses using iXpenseIT, write notes using Fliq and surf the web using Safari.  I also load it up with games like Solitaire, Word Wrap, Deal or No Deal (Lite), Mancala, TicTacTouch and Bowl Lite.

As I only have a credit card issued in China, I can only buy apps from the Chinese Apps Stores.  This is a bummer because the China store doesn’t have a Games category and if they do have games they’re kinda corny.  A games which I’ve been searching for quite some time is Mahjong.  This Mahjong is not the pairs game which is readily available from the US apps store but the Chinese Mahjong with the chow, pong and win.

 

Game Review: Fashion Season

I’ve been a fan of Mysteries of Horus since it came out.  When I had a Palm PDA, I got hooked with Shapeshifter.  I was so hooked with it that my PDA will suddenly die down then I will use my sister’s PDA and will play it till it ran out of battery.  I remember playing it till late at night and my hand will develop cramps.  What’s the connection with this and the new game I’m going to review?  It has elements of Shapeshifter and Gem Shop (also one of my faves).

Fashion Season is a game developed by Alawar Games.  It’s not one of the latest but it’s the one I’m playing more lately.  It’s a cross of Shapeshifter where you fill in empty fields with the same shape with matching colors generating more points and Gem Shop where you have customers who purchase clothes by filling up the clothes “cup”.   A bonus level where you’ll solve a puzzle which I don’t know what’s the point for as you don’t earn coins or anything.   A clothes catalog with 16 clothes with different values which you purchase with the coins you win during the game and as bonus at the end of each level.  To sweeten the mood of your customers, you can either offer them magazines, coffee or gift.  A reminder though, they don’t refill after each level.

 

Game Review: Fishco

I’m bored and I’m craving for seafood! So, when I was checking the new releases in Reflexive.com, Fishco enhance my curiosity and became my latest PC game download. When I was reading through the description provided, I thought it would be something like Fish Tycoon wherein you breed two different fishes to get a new species. It wasn’t the case and here’s why.

Fishco is an action game created by Fugazo. It has action and relax mode for you to choose. The action mode has 40 levels wherein you’ll help your partner Tracy to grow, breed and sell fishes. To grow a fish, you need to separate the aggressive and non-aggressive fishes. You would also need to keep your tank clean by changing the water and removing the algae. You should also keep your fish happiness level up by planting plants. Breeding involve two similar fishes of the opposite sexes in a breeding tank. Normally, they would have 2 eggs. To sell those fishes, you need to transfer them to a regular tank.

 

Game Review: Ranch Rush

I didn’t know this game at first.  My brother suggested it after I reviewed Farm Frenzy  2.  I admit it’s better than Farm Frenzy 2 as it wasn’t too difficult that you’ll get frustrated when you don’t complete it and it’s not too easy to lose your interest.

Ranch Rush involves a young lady farmer.  She started out with a barn, well and a stack of crates.  It involves 8 weeks with a Farmer’s Market for the first 7 weeks.  She needs to plant clover, tomato, wheat, corn, grapes and pumpkin.  She also needs to harvest honey, ostrich eggs and milk and produce cheese, tomato sauce, and bread.

 

Game Review: Slingo Supreme

I run through games like some people go through boy/girlfriends.  Well.. you can’t fault me as some games are boring while others lose their thrill once you’ve completed all stages.  My latest game which I’ve already deleted is Slingo Supreme.

Slingo Supreme is the latest of a series of Slingo games created by Slingo (Hehe! too many slingo in a sentence).  Slingo is a mix of Bingo and slot machine.  You have a card and a pattern where you try to complete by spinning the slot for a combination of numbers.  There are devils, angels, treasure chests, multipliers, coins and challenges.
